I'm not going to pretend that I have all the answers, not even for a moment! I've lived long enough walking with God to understand more each day that, the more I learn about Him, the less I realize I actually know about everything. It's not that I've become 'dumber', but richer in my faith and humbled by the revelation of all that our God is and all that He has for us, His people. He never ceases to reveal more and more of Himself and His truth to those who will seek Him. But therein lies the problem for most of us...seeking Him consistently and passionately.
There is so much in our world to distract us and deter us from our relationship with God in Christ. From the the rather inane things like our weekly TV shows, to the 'good' things that can rob us of the best things, like placing family before Christ. This 'slipping away' isn't usually intentional, but often well meaning, yet it undermines our spiritual growth none the less.
So, how do we grow and mature in our faith? How do we focus on the 'best' instead of settling for the 'good'? Honestly, it takes being intentional and disciplined. Your passion can drive you and your honest love for Jesus will propel you sometimes, but the day to day will eventually take you from the One you swore to follow to the ends of the earth without a 'plan'.
This Blog section for Equipped Church has been created to help us all 'make a plan'. It can't be everything we need, but it's intended to point us in the right direction. We will post regular blogs for devotions and encouragement, written to help each of us in our 'plan', so that we truly become 'equipped for ministry', as stated in Ephesians 4.
So use it, share it and even contribute to it, if God so leads you and be sure to enjoy this incredible journey with Jesus you and I have been created to fulfill and privileged to be a part of!
Psalm 34:8 "Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!"
